HOW DO WE OPERATE?
CargoWatch is an electronic message switching and translation system. Messages are stored in mailboxes until they are retrieved by the addressee. CargoWatch also supports interactive and quick response application programs, providing responses to queries in seconds.
User Access User can access CargoWatch by using their web browser.
Message Flow
A message passes through a number of states as it is handled by the system. These cater for new, handled, suspended and undeliverable messages.
Positive Acknowledgement
Messages are transmitted using secure acknowledgement protocol, which ensures that a positive confirmation of receipt is received from a customers system.
Standards
CargoWatch will support two main EDI message formats: Flat File or Soap and will provide conversion services between the two. This is done automatically by CargoWatch. This means users need not be concerned with formatting standards used by other organisations.
Addressing
CargoWatch is fully compliant with IATA addressing requirements, known as PIMA (Participant Identification and Message Addressing), and converts between various other addressing standards such as X400 and SITA.
Security
Every user of CargoWatch is provided with a unique User/Mailbox ID and password. The password can be changed by the user to ensure confidentiality.
Management and Audit Trails
Every activity is logged an an audit trail. CargoWatch provides various administrative functions relating to management, billing and statistics.
Help Desk
A help desk provides support, to ensure that the CargoWatch service and related network links, are always available.
